The EnerCmed consortium gathered in Patras for its 5th Steering Committee, bringing partners from Italy, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus and Greece side by side to share progress, exchange ideas and plan the final stretch of the project together. A special thank-you goes to the Municipality of Patras for hosting the meeting.

The technical session, facilitated by the University of Genoa, reviewed the current state of the project and the activities in progress: best-practice presentations from all pilots, the environmental, economic and social impact assessment and the work on technical and financial sustainability as a basis for replication (SINLOC), the energy tracking platform (ETRA), and the MED joint strategy built on the REC–NBS paradigm for energy-positive, climate-resilient Mediterranean cities (IRENA). Dedicated communication and administrative sessions and a wrap-up closed the day.

On the second day, partners visited the Patras pilot site — the 6th EPAL school complex — to see the 50 kW rooftop photovoltaic installation, green roof and green façade first-hand, along with the dedicated kiosk that turns the technical intervention into a living educational tool for students and teachers.

As Konstadinos Konstadakopoulos (Municipality of Patras) noted, “the goal is to create a pilot that inspires other schools to do the same.” Lead Partner Professor Corrado Schenone (University of Genoa) reinforced the project’s guiding spirit: “EnerCmed was never meant to stop at the project’s end — its very purpose is continuity.”
