Founded on innovation and collaboration, EnerCmed aims to tackle pressing energy challenges in Mediterranean hinterlands. Our story starts with a vision: empowering development in Mediterranean communities. In addition our aim is to transform marginalized areas into vibrant, energy-positive hubs of progress and resilience.

Facing urgent needs, we committed to combating energy poverty and mitigating climate change impacts. Our mission is to empower communities and foster sustainable development. At EnerCmed, we believe in innovation’s power to drive positive change. Our pioneering approaches focus on Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). We revolutionize how communities access and use energy, creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.

EnerCmed represents a diverse consortium, each partner brings unique perspectives and expertise, enriching our collaborative efforts. Our consortium includes nine partners from five Mediterranean countries: Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, and Croatia. Esteemed institutions like the University of Genoa, SINLOC, the University of Cyprus, València Clima i Energia, and the Istrian Regional Energy Agency bring diverse expertise, enriching our collaborative efforts.

Collaboration is central to our journey. We know no single entity can tackle these complex challenges alone. Consequently we’ve built strong partnerships with like-minded organizations, experts, and stakeholders across the Mediterranean. Together, we pool our resources, expertise, and passion to drive meaningful change and create lasting impact.

We are deeply committed to the communities we serve. True sustainability requires active participation and engagement from these communities. We work hand-in-hand with them, listening to their needs and co-creating tailored solutions for their unique contexts and challenges. As a result, our projects aim to empower marginalized neighborhoods, combat energy poverty, and reduce urban heat islands through innovative solutions.

Our collaborative efforts extend beyond immediate project goals. We strive to inspire broader adoption of our strategies, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future for all Mediterranean hinterlands. Each step we take drives tangible change, benefiting current and future generations.
