EnerCmed Publishes First Key Deliverables: Laying the Foundations for Resilient Energy Communities

01/03/2025

The EnerCmed project is excited to announce the publication of its first official deliverables, now available for download on the project website. These documents represent a major step forward in achieving EnerCmed’s mission to develop climate-resilient, energy-efficient communities in port hinterlands across the Mediterranean.

The newly released deliverables include:

D1.1.1 – Background Analysis for Pilot Development: A comprehensive study establishing common guidelines for selecting Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in marginalized areas. The analysis explores spatial planning, urban heat island (UHI) effects, social composition, and regulatory frameworks across the partner regions
.

D1.2.1 – Maps of Activable RECs: This report presents detailed, site-specific maps of potential REC implementation in pilot neighborhoods. These maps result from a rich mix of thematic analysis and direct engagement with local stakeholders during Open Days and institutional meetings
.

D2.4.1 – Portfolio of Small-Scale Nature-Based Solutions: A curated collection of adaptable NBS tailored for urban settings. These solutions, drawn from leading HORIZON projects, address climate resilience, UHI effects, and environmental sustainability in the four pilot cities: Genoa, Valencia, Patras, and Pula
.

These deliverables provide a strong methodological and operational base to support EnerCmed’s next phases, including pilot testing and transnational scaling. They also embody the project’s inclusive approach—combining technical expertise, local knowledge, and co-creation with citizens and municipalities.
